Why does MSRACTN exist?

In 2005, MS Research Australia (MSRA), the leading source of funding for MS research in Australia, began discussions identifying ways to overcome obstacles observed in the MS clinical trials process. MSRACTN was subsequently established to provide a valuable resource to faciliate the dissemination and coordination of information about MS clinical trial activity in Australia and New Zealand.

The Network will assist with both industry-sponsored and investigator-initiated studies to:

  • increase patient awareness about trials,
  • improve the opportunity for both patients and neurologists to participate in trials,
  • increase trial sponsors awareness of Australia’s capacity to undertake MS trials
  • streamline the interaction between trial sponsors, trial sites and the patient community
