For Health Professionals
The MS Research Australia Clinical Trials Network (MSRACTN) was established to facilitate the clinical trials process for MS in Australia and increase awareness and access to clinical trials for people with MS.
MSRACTN does not aim to replace direct interaction between trial sponsors and neurologists or trial sites. Rather, it aims to increase the availability of information and maximise opportunities for participation for all parties. The MSRACTN is particularly well placed to support investigator-driven clinical trials and clinical research.
For Neurologists and other clinical staff, the MSRACTN can help you in four specific ways:
- Assistance and advice on the completion of feasibility questionnaires
- Learn of clinical trials recruiting patients or requiring sites
- Quickly identify promising trials
- Access to a panel of experts for advice
Join the Network
By becoming a member of the network, you will receive email notifications when a trial sponsor approach has occurred and when trials are recruiting.
There is no cost to join the Network. To become a MSRACTN member, please complete the enquiry form or phone 1300 356 467. Following completion of a registration form we will add you to our mailing list.
Learn of clinical trials requiring sites
MSRACTN will keep you informed of approaches from trial sponsors looking for potential trial sites. If you’re interested in learning more about a trial described in an email from the MSRACTN, just let us know and we can put you in contact with the Trial Sponsor.
If you are approached by a CRO or trial sponsor, you might consider directing them to MSRACTN so we can keep the MS clinical community informed and provide any further assistance that they may require.
Patient recruitment
For trial sites and investigator-lead clinical research we provide a valuable avenue for widening patient recruitment through our [Find a Trial] listing.
When planning a trial and applying for HREC approval please include the MSRACTN website as one of your patient recruitment methods and contact us via mstrials@msra.org.au so that we can list the trial as soon as HREC approval has been obtained.
Access to expertise
The MSRACTN Executive Committee and Scientific Review Panel can provide expert assistance, particularly for investigator driven trials, through reviewing protocols and budgets, facilitating collaborations and widening recruitment of trial centres and patients.
The Network’s Executive Committee consists of MS neurologist representatives from Australia and New Zealand supported by a Scientific Review Committee.
